I've studied both science and philosophy over several decades, but it was at the Whidbey Institute courses that I finally found both the generous, gifted mentors and thoughtful fellow students who could help me to integrate both spirit and intellect, heart and mind.

The Reclamation of Self
with Sheila Belanger, M.A.
Event Flyer

5:00 PM Thursday–4:00 PM Sunday, March 4–7, 2010
Fee: $495 (Some partial scholarship and work exchange positions are available).

Midlife is a journey of reclamation. As a child and young adult, a woman creates identities that enable her to survive and to fit into family and culture. The midlife passage (between the late 30’s and early 60’s) calls her to release versions of self that she has outgrown and to reclaim her authentic self. Come gather with other women to explore, honor and celebrate this tumultuous and potent life phase. This experiential retreat includes the wisdom of astrological midlife cycles; solo time in nature; creative processes; ceremonial circle; shamanic journeys; Soulcraft practices; a purification sauna; a Labyrinth meditation and drumming and dancing. No previous background in astrology or shamanic journeys required.

Sheila Belanger, M.A. is an inspiring astrologer, shamanic mentor and wilderness guide. She holds a Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Psychology and has 25 years experience as a counseling astrologer. Sheila carries an archetypal and shamanic perspective on astrology and specializes in the midlife journey. Her presentations are guided by humor, heart, and deep reverence for our shared interconnectedness.

The Open Path
Ten-Month Trainings in Nondual Awareness with Pir Elias Amidon
Electronic Brochure

The intention of the ten-month Open Path Training is to introduce you to the direct experience of pure awareness, free from religious interpretations and obligations. Usually this experience begins with short glimpses of its lucid clarity. As these glimpses are pointed out, you learn to open to them again and again. Pir Elias Amidon is the spiritual director of the Sufi Way International, and inner school in the direct lineage of the Indian mystic Pir-o Murshid Inayat Khan. He teaches and holds retreats on nondual spirituality and Sufism throughout Europe and the United States.

The Open Path Training is appropriate for people who are psychologically stable, emotionally resilient, and who are invested with a deep spiritual calling for realization.
Seminar 1: 7pm June 9 to 4pm June 13, 2010
Seminar 2:7pm Nov 17 to 4pm Nov 21 2010
Seminar 3: 7pm March 16 to 4pm March 20, 2011

The Open Path Trainings are partially subsidized by the Sufi Way International, this makes it possible for us to offer the training on a sliding scale. The fee scale in the United States is from $1500-2000 (room and board are a separate charge). We ask that you determine the amount that is appropriate for your life situation. There are also a limited number of partial scholarships available.
